Upcoming Release + SHOW TONIGHT

It is with great pleasure that I toss our new album art your way for our upcoming 7".  Lovingly handcrafted/created by your favorite vocalist/saxophonist Melanie Bernier over the better course of two months, this piece is made of embroidered tinsil, handsewn/'painted/cut vinyl and one very special doll eyeball.

While our 7" wont be out until August, which we will definitely have a killer release show for, we will put up the digital download in the coming week for your listening/downloading pleasure.

WHATS THAT? CANT WAIT THAT LONG?
Come to Zuzu tonight, 10pm!  We will be playing all new songs on the new EP.  Get a taste!
Plus, Tropical Punk is a rad band from Nashville... and youre gonna wanna see them... cause they're awesome.
Oh, and The Electric Street Queens (electric strep queens of the boner age) will light your face on fire with their dastardly rhythm section

New Jams

Last night Ian (of the magical Mystic Steamship Co and contributor of all things electric piano/organ related) and I put the finishing touches on 3 new rock n' roll jams.
These suckers are going on a 7" for your listening pleasure, so look for a new release in the coming months, man.  Can't wait that long?  We'll put em on the internet earlier than that for sure.

And now, obligatory Fagette-Recording-Production-Photographs:

Fill In the Blanks

Hello brothers and sisters,

Last night, we recorded some new shit into the wee hours of the morning. It's sounding d-o-p-e. I really think you're gonna like it. This haul-ass we've been doing lately is in preparation for our upcoming 7" RELEASE and subsequent SUMMER TOUR with THE CLAP from Atlanta! Summer Tour: the sweetest two-word phrase in the English dictionary. The Clap: second sweetest. Seven Inches: really a matter of personal taste.

Anyways, I've been contacting sweet bands, venues, friends, friends of friends, and weird uncles of strange acquaintances - anyone that might be able to help hook some shit up. I. Need. Help.

You don't need to be a weird uncle (please don't be a weird uncle). Just read our schedule below and email melbo.elbow@gmail.com with any hints.

Big Time!

"We're so Big Time, I'm gonna shit myself"

Midnight on May 11, Ryan and I rang in our birthday in Northampton with The Novels, The Original Cowards, and tons of wine-drinking kids. People from Western Mass really know how to relax. One of 'em lounged so hard on the roof of our RV, he ended up smashing in a skylight.

This week is big time. We're playing a big venue with a big band. We're in a big poll and got a new review. Mr. Prez, WFNX, and Store 54 all made big announcements. I'm a big kid now. Big kids wear big poopy diapers.

Friday May 18: Opening at the Brighton Music Hall for the reunion of all-male metal choir BANG CAMERO! I think the last time they ripped onstage was 2010. How many dudes? Sooooo Maaaaany Duuuudes. Also playing will be our buds Sidewalk Driver. These bands are so big, they have, like, actual websites.

Our campaign for the Boston's Best Garage Act in the Phoenix Music Poll also ends Friday. Vote.

New review out from Punknews.org! They featured us on the weekly podcast with some other excellent Broadway-material punks. Derp!

Hugs and Kisses,
Mel

Ryan and I share a very special birthday in Northampton

All Tomorrow's Parties, April Edition

Dear Fan,

April is a great month in Boston. The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, the sun comes out sometimes, and despite the balmy weather, garbage day still doesn't smell so bad.

Therefore, there is absolutely no excuse for you to miss one of our upcoming shows. We're playing all over town this month, so if you can't get off your lazy butthole and make it out for a single show, well, we're gonna call your mom. We're gonna tell her how much booze you've been drinking, that you haven't cut your hair in sixty months, AND that you refuse to wear the deodorant she sent you. She even went out of her way to get the Tom's of Maine because she heard hippies like it. Do you really want us to make your momma cry?

Don't be angry. We do this because we love you, and we wanna give you a good time. We're also playing with AMAZING lineups. Here they be:

FRIDAY, APRIL 20 (that's 4/20 maaan): @ PA's with Tough Shits (Philly, on Burger Records, and incredible), White Pages (serious punk rock nuggetmakers), and Explanets. $8, 8:30, 21+. RSVP

SUNDAY, APRIL 22: @ What We Talk About (Allston DIY space, ask a punk) with all our friends!!!! Bozmo (tour kickoff!), Gary B & the Notions (Baltimore), and Dirty Virgins (they gotta new 7" out). 8pm, $?, any age'll do. RSVP

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 25: **Rock v Wade: Planned Parenthood Benefit** @ Emerson College Cabaret with Slutever (Philly) and Pineries. $5-10 donations, 9pm sharp, any age'll do. RSVP.

THURSDAY, APRIL 26: @ Lorem Ipsum Books (aka best bookstore in Boston) with Slutever, Gushers, and Tropical Punk (TN). $5-10 donation, any age'll do, 9pm. Bring extra ca$h for book$.

Some say this is too many local shows for one week. We say, MYOB!

"you'll have to go through me to get to her"

Knocked Up and Knocked Out

Dear Readers,

I'd like to say I'm sorry we got knocked outta the Rumble, but I'm not. WHY? Cuz we made some amazing friends, saw some awesome bands, and people who had never even heard of us were practically forced to watch us. Plus, I was birthed from an evil RobotMom on stage. The people who got it, got it. The people who didn't looked confused. It's only when you're hated that you know you're truly loved.

Read about our exploits here and here and a trifle here. Congrats to our buddies MotherboarCask Mouse, The Rationales, and Thick Shakes for advancing! Streight Angular - glad to be on the same Freak Page.

"sayonara, shitheads!"

Video: When I'm With You

We have here, for your viewing pleasure, a video of nostalgic proportions.

The Fagettes - When I'm With You
16mm color, 2012

In the summer of 2011, The Fagettes toured the west coast of the USA with Rotten Apples in a 6.5 ton military truck dubbed "The Deuce and a Half". The film, shot with a Bolex Rex-4, captures these ruffians from Los Angles to San Francisco to Portland to Olympia to everywhere in between and back again.

True Allston Rock N' Roll Romance at its best.

"The sunny montages on top of the cheery “ah, ah, ah-ah” refrain suck even the non-romantics in a whirlwind of nostalgia." says The DIG!

"a lovely, Hipstamatic/Instagram looking thing that wasn’t shot with either of those modern conveniences" says Boston Band Crush.

Thanks, web dudes!

Things are Happening

Hope y'all are "swelve" in twenty-twelve.  In case ya didn't know, we Fagettes are on a live-show-hiatus til Ryan returns from SF in March. If you're hanging around the hills of San Fran, make sure to pay him a visit. Remind him of all the East Coast bad-itude awaiting him on yonder shore.

Regardless, you'll be happy to hear we've been working our dirty buttholes off mixing our next two Top-40 hits!!! These are gonna be good. Trust me. I have a blog.

Also, Peaches is near completion on the first ever FAGETTES MUSIC VIDEOOOO. Featuring: men in dresses, women with armpit hair, grease, booze, and a 6.5 ton military truck.

Keep your ear to the ground and your eye on the ball and your head in the game. See ya soon.

New Years Roundups

Well, lots of stuff has happened so far this year...
We drank, we smoked, we played, we partied, we had our car busted into, our stuff stolen, etc.  The usual New Years shenanigans.
Some New Years Roundups:

And lastly an awesome review of our Volume 2 from Impose Magazine

Post Script, We are pretty much all done recording some new jams, so be on the lookout in the future for some 2012 Fagettes Jamz.

Finishing up we have a new song called Moonshine Fever that we finished right before the show

The END is NIGH
Tomorrow night at O'Briens, we're ringing in the new year with Earthquake Party, New Highway Hymnal, and a DJ set by Liz Pelly.

MAD MAX USA in Allston this Saturday

This crazy ol' country just keeps getting more nutty! Poor Alabamans with no access to fresh water? Tourist "chokeslammed" by cops for dancing in the Jefferson Memorial? How about this doozy: authorities will soon be given the right to break into your home and detain you indefinitely without charge or trial!

Anyways, Constitution, Schmonstitution. That ol' rag - let's just toss the whole deal and settle into MAD MAX USA on Highgate St this Saturday night. We'll sharpen our knives, we'll tan our leathers, we'll go hogwild dancing to the tunes of  The Connection , us (duh), and one more TBA!

For as long as our amps get power, let's stick it to this shit show, k?
